"Monica Mouse" marks the debut of Christian children's author Kelley Brooks. The inspirational book, to be published by Lifevest Publishing in time for Christmas, tells the tale of a faithful mouse named Monica, who ponders if she is praying the correct way. The colorful picture book is illustrated by award winning artist Kevin Scott Collier.

About the Illustrator
Kevin Scott Collier as illustrated over 50 children's books, virtually all having Christian themes. He is also a published author with nearly a dozen titles to his credit. The December 6, 2006 issue of World Magazine named one of Kevin's illustrated picture books as "one of the top 50 children's picture books of all time." Kevin was inspired when he first read Kelley Brook's manuscript for Monica Mouse. "The story is a tender tale of faith, and the character is endearing," Collier said. "This is one of the best books I have ever had the pleasure of illustration." Collier resides in Grand Haven, Michigan, with his author/wife Kristen, and their son, Jarod. He is Art Director for the Grand Haven Tribune daily newspaper.

About the Author

Kelley Brooks has been working with children in schools and churches for the past twenty years and believes every child is a unique gift from God. She has most recently worked with MOPS, teaching a home school group, while homeschooling her Eight year old daughter. She has also taught classes her local Homeschooling Co-op. Kelley has been an active leader with the Girl Scouts and the Read Aloud program in West Virginia and at one time owned and operated her own Day Care. She has had articles published in newspapers and has written skits and lesson plans for various churches. While keeping busy with her family, she managed to write several children's books. "Monica Mouse" will be her first published Book. "My hope for the book is that it will open a dialog between teachers, parents and children regarding prayer, " Kelley said. Kelley resides in West Virginia with her husband, John, and two daughters, Christian and Avonlea.
